The Despicable Vet

No this is not an ad for a vet clinic but rather a letter of gratuity. I write this post with my four month old pug puppy fighting for his little life with an IV in his paw, overall not pleasant!

I went through a pretty traumatic experience these past 48 hours and it got me thinking about how poor the vet industry is here in Egypt. I feel a bit retarded saying that sentence out loud, we have no regard for human lives in this country simply seen by any hospital you step into, so why should they treat animals any different?

My dog was poisoned during a routine tick bath, sending his whole nervous system into shock which resulted in seizures and tremors all day and night. While calling the vet in a panic he was very confident in telling me not to worry and these are the side effects of the meds and that above everything do not remove the medicine. Me being the educated person I am I did not listen, showered him found the Modern Veterinary Clinic in Katameya (directed to me by my gaurdian angel) and began immediate treatment to flush his system and stop the seizures!

Without wasting everyone’s time I have 3 things to say, do not go to dr. Amr Shoukry in Maadi regardless of how desperate you are, the man is an A-Hole! Do go to the Modern Vet Clinic in Katameya off road 90, right next to our boy morsi’s house. As for the vet industry I say stand up for the little creatures, these people take advantage of the fact that we can not do anything to hold them reliable if they kill our pets!

Well it’s time we change that, how your asking? I don’t know…yet, but i think i’m going to start by slandering this guy left right and center!
