Taking place at District 5 in New Cairo, Cairo Runners’ annual Breast Cancer Run is returning for its 2026 edition this Friday, October 16, bringing participants together to raise awareness and show support for women affected by breast cancer.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, this year’s run puts the spotlight on life after treatment, highlighting the recovery journey and the challenges women may continue to face long after cancer treatment ends.

Participants can choose between two routes, a 2.5-kilometer run or a 5-kilometer course, making the event accessible to people with different fitness levels who want to take part in the cause.
The morning will kick off with gathering at 7:00 AM, followed by a warm-up at 7:15 AM. The run will officially begin at 7:30 AM at District 5.
Under the theme of navigating life after the journey, the initiative aims to remind women that support should not stop when treatment does. It also highlights the importance of making every woman feel seen and supported throughout her experience, from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and beyond.

Cairo Runners emphasizes that no woman should have to navigate this part of her journey alone, with this year’s event serving as a reminder that care, understanding, and encouragement remain important long after treatment comes to an end.
