Now That the World Cup Is Officially Over, Here’s What to Do Until 2030

After weeks of late nights, emotional celebrations, heartbreaking defeats, and nonstop group chats, the FIFA World Cup has officially come to an end. Whether you were celebrating every Egypt goal, holding your breath through VAR checks, or convincing yourself that this was finally our year, one thing is certain: our schedules suddenly feel a lot emptier. But don’t worry, football season isn’t really over. Here are a few fun ways to keep the tournament excitement alive while we wait for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Keep an Eye on Egypt’s Rising Stars

If there’s one thing this World Cup gave us, it’s a new generation of Egyptian stars to get excited about. While familiar names like Emam Ashour continued to shine, players including Mostafa Zico, Haïssem Hassan, Hamza Abdel Karim, and Mostafa Shoubeir proved they have bright futures ahead.

And honestly, half the fun starts after the tournament ends. Transfer rumors are already flying, with Haïssem Hassan being linked to clubs like Celtic, Marseille, and even Liverpool. Mostafa Shoubeir continues to attract attention from European teams after his standout performances, while speculation around Mohamed Salah’s future never seems to slow down. Whether the rumors become reality or not, following Egypt’s stars during the transfer window is almost as entertaining as watching the matches themselves.

Rewatch the Best Goals (and the Biggest Heartbreaks)

Now that the pressure is off, it’s the perfect time to revisit the tournament’s most unforgettable moments. Rewatch Spain’s road to the title, Morocco’s historic run, Egypt’s dramatic penalty shootout against Australia, and yes, even that painful match against Argentina. It might still hurt, but it’s already becoming football history.

Follow Africa’s Road to AFCON

The World Cup may be over, but African football certainly isn’t slowing down. Attention will soon shift to the Africa Cup of Nations, where Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and the continent’s biggest stars will battle once again for continental glory.

There’s also growing excitement around the possibility of Egypt hosting the 2028 AFCON. While the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to officially confirm the host nation, Egypt is widely rumored to be preparing a bid. If it happens, the country could once again welcome Africa’s biggest football celebration, bringing unforgettable atmospheres back to stadiums across the nation.

Finally Finish That Panini Album

Let’s be honest, you probably promised yourself you’d complete your Panini World Cup sticker album before the final. If you’re still missing a few stickers (or a few dozen), now’s your chance.

Trade duplicates with friends, hunt down the last missing players, and finally give that half-finished album the ending it deserves. Years from now, it’ll be a fun reminder of the tournament that kept us glued to our screens every night.

Start the Countdown to 2030

Yes, it sounds ridiculously far away. Yes, you’ll probably say “it’s only four years” at least once a month. And yes, before you know it, qualifiers will be back, squad debates will take over social media again, and we’ll all convince ourselves that we’re going to bed early, only to stay awake for another midnight kickoff.

Until we get to relive the drama again, enjoy the transfer debates, cheer on your favorite clubs, follow Africa’s biggest tournaments, and keep the football conversations alive. The World Cup may be over, but the countdown to 2030 has officially begun.
