With Spain making another exciting FIFA World Cup run, plenty of fans in Egypt are cheering La Roja on. But our connection with Spanish stars goes way beyond football. Over the years, some of Spain’s biggest actors, singers, and athletes have swapped movie sets and stadiums for the Pyramids, the Nile, and the Red Sea, sharing snapshots of their Egyptian adventures with millions of fans. Here’s a look at the Spanish celebrities who couldn’t resist a trip to the land of the pharaohs.
Ester Expósito

Unsurprisingly, the photos quickly caught the attention of both Spanish and Egyptian fans.

Enrique Iglesias
When Enrique Iglesias came to Egypt for a concert, he made sure to experience more than just the stage. Like many international artists before him, he visited the Pyramids and embraced Egypt’s rich history while in the country. His trips became another reminder that Egypt is just as much a cultural stop as it is a concert destination.
Pedro Alonso
Money Heist star Pedro Alonso, beloved for playing Berlin, also enjoyed time in Egypt while filming The Prince with Ahmed Ezz. From wandering through historic sites to taking in the country’s ancient architecture, his visit reflected the same curiosity and appreciation for culture that fans often see in his travels around the world.
Sergio Ramos
Long before Spain’s current World Cup campaign, Sergio Ramos showed his love for Egypt by choosing Hurghada as part of his honeymoon in 2019. The football legend, his wife Pilar Rubio, and their family enjoyed a relaxing stay on the Red Sea after their wedding.
Whether it’s Hollywood-worthy actors chasing history, global music stars ticking the Pyramids off their bucket lists, or football icons unwinding by the Red Sea, Spain’s biggest names continue to find their way to Egypt. And as Spain keeps making headlines on the football pitch, it’s safe to say the bond between the two countries stretches far beyond the World Cup.
