Three Students Stabbed in Alexandria While Protecting Girls from Harassment
By Malak Khaled
In Alexandria’s Kafr Abdo district, a confrontation between students took a violent turn, leaving three 16-year-old students injured in a shocking incident.
The brawl reportedly began during a break between classes at an educational center when Islam attempted to intervene after witnessing another student harassing some of his female classmates.
The Incident
According to Islam’s mother, her son and his peers had gone to a nearby supermarket during their break. They saw a student harassing and bothering female classmates, so they confronted him and denounced his inappropriate behavior. The heated argument quickly escalated into a physical fight.
Though the dispute was initially broken up, it reignited shortly after. The aggressor reportedly followed them and used a butterfly knife to stab Islam in the abdomen and injure the two other students in the back and hand.
Victims Condition
Islam was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, including bleeding in the liver. He remains in intensive care, awaiting critical surgery. The other two injured students also required medical attention for their wounds but are in better condition.
A Mother’s Call for Accountability
In a video, Islam’s mother expressed her determination to pursue justice, rejecting offers for reconciliation and financial compensation. While the perpetrator is still on the run, she emphasized the need for him to face legal consequences, hoping for a deterrent punishment to prevent such acts in the future.
A Broader Pattern of Violence
This incident follows another case of violence in a schoolyard at a prominent international school in the Fifth Settlement area. A viral video captured the assault and insults that took place.
Karma, a sixth-grade student, was attacked by three older girls from the tenth and twelfth grades. The violent altercation resulted in Karma sustaining a broken nose and other injuries.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for conflict resolution and awareness among youth to prevent violence. As investigations continue, families and authorities must work together to ensure justice and safety in educational settings.
