Maison Alaïa Revives Signature Styles in a Sensational Performance
To launch the Maison Alaïa Editions, an artistic performance hosted by Naomi Campbell and featuring dancer Hajiba Fahmy was done as an expression of Alaïa’s modernity and elegance. It included nearly 20 looks that highlight Alaïa’s mastery, his magical tailoring, and signature designs. As a tribute to his innovative spirit of its creator, the performance was broadcast live on Instagram, from one of the most unique locations in Paris, the Gaîté Lyrique, a special place for digital culture in the French city.
The pieces from Azzedine Alaïa’s Editions appeared simultaneously, in a sensual and artistic ballet performance. The multi-dimensional event brought the pieces to life, and showcased a new wardrobe of cult pieces that were recreated from the Alaïa maison archives between 1981-2017. The wardrobe, which was inspired by Azzedine Alaïa over decades, was reproduced with the same outstanding expertise, but in a new form of expression and a different light.
Hajiba Fahmy, the ballet dancer in the performance is a dancer, model, and choreographer. Hajima captured the essence of the Editions through her movements in the performance.
