ENSHROUD: A Series Showcasing the Patterned Beauty of Veils in Lagos

The first thought that pops into one’s mind when we see women veiled may differ from one person to another as well as from one country to another. For many, wearing a veil is a visible sign representing their culture, showing faith and respect for their traditions and religion.

Based on her belief that the veil is a form of self-expression, Artist Medina Dugger created images using digital collage in her photographic series “ENSHROUD”, inspired by Muslim Women in Lagos. She features the veil in an abstract sense, showcasing the patterns, colors and style, contrasted by exotic backgrounds.

WE SAID THIS: A series of masterpieces!
