Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Tour Morocco!
Today the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s trip to Morocco is coming to an end! Their official three-day trip was the couple’s first to the North African nation. The royal couple landed in Casablanca Airport on a commercial airline from London; their visit was an attempt to boost the ties between England and Morocco. Once they landed, they were greeted with dates and milk with orange blossom; it’s a Moroccan tradition often seen during their weddings. However, it must be mentioned how all eyes were focused on Meghan’s baby bump!
The Duchess is already seven months pregnant and is due to give birth in late April or early May. Officials have confirmed that all the medical provisions have been made for her prior to her visit to Morocco.
The theme of their trip fell under the ‘women empowerment’ initiative by the U.K. government; they visited a boarding school for girls in the Al-Atlas Mountain and a cooking school for underprivileged kids. They also focused on promoting gender equality; the importance of girls’ education was also highlighted throughout the trip. The couple focused on supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds by visiting the town of Ansi, where they met students at a local school and learned about the Moroccan NGO “Education for All”. This NGO actually builds boarding houses for girls between the age of 12-18.
On their final day of the trip, the couple set on learning about the country’s development in supporting and treating children with special needs. Also, they’re planning to visit another cooking school for kids with underprivileged backgrounds.
