Earlier today, an Egyptian man set himself on fire in Alexandria due to the recent increase in prices, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm. A report has been released by Alexandria’s authority stating that the man was a 30-year-old taxi driver from Kafr El Dawar that went by the name of Ashraf Mohamed Shahin.

The man allegedly spilled petrol all over his body and lit himself on fire. Alexandria’s authorities have also mentioned in their statement that Shahin has burned 95% of his body and is currently in critical condition.

WE SAID THIS: A video has surfaced online of Shahin setting himself on fire but it’s too graphic to show on our site. For those who still want to watch it, click here.
