Children Represent Over One Third of Egypt’s Population

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics has announced that the number of Egyptian children below the age of 18 years has reached 33.3 million children, representing over one third of the country’s total population.

 

The statement released by CAPMAS also said that 90% of boys and 92.2% of girls between six to 11 years of age are enrolled in the primary stage of education; while 80.8% of boys and 87.1% of girls are enrolled in the preparatory stage.

 

The fact that children represent over one third of Egypt’s population may hopefully push the country to improve its educational system that they all desperately need.
