Yacob Intelligent Health: This UAE Tech Start-up Will Tackle Diabetes and Obesity Among Children!
With the unhealthy eating habits getting easier and more accessible than ever, one UAE tech start-up could be a key player for parents to monitor the health of their kids. Yacob Intelligent Health is a food-tracking system to encourage healthy eating in schools.
The healthy eating platform is one of the 10 start-up companies in Dubai that won funding worth AED 440,000 in the latest round of government-backed innovation. Faisal Al-Hammadi, The CEO and Founder of Yacob, announced that they are planning to expand internationally once it proves initial success in the UAE.
The start-up built software to be used by school canteens, which allows parents to log in to a ‘parent dashboard’ see what their child has consumed and its nutritional value. The platform was expanded to schools in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and has so far engaged more than 10,500 pupils and 8,000 parents.
