According to a press release by London-based SDX Energy; a new gas reserve had been discovered in South Disouq. SDX is a company that specializes in the operation and development of oil and gas properties. The company mainly operates in Egypt. The discovery was made at the SD-4X well and testing will start after 30-45 days of the rig’s departure.
“We will now accelerate our development activity in the area. It’s our intent to establish production from both the South Disouq and Ibn Yunus areas before year end 2018,” President and CEO of SDX, Paul Welch, said. “The SD-4X well was drilled to a total depth of 7,806 feet and encountered 89 feet of net conventional natural gas pay in the Abu Madi horizon, which had an average porosity in the pay section of 24 percent,” the company said earlier this June.
The company is very pleased with the results and they are very proud that they managed to drill three wells out of four, with an expectation to reach seven wells.
