Whooping Cough Epidemic Takes Over

A Whooping couh outbreak has killed over 13 babies so far in the last 2 months. Having said to be the worst seen in 20 years Doctors are more and more worried about the infants and pregnant mothers carrying the disease. 

“Whooping cough is an infection of the lining of the airways that causes a hacking cough.”

It is cured through antibiotics and vaccine, only infants above 2 months old can receive the vaccine, leaving those younger in a very dire situation. All soon to be mothers have been ordered by health officials to be vaccinated to protect their babies from the epidemic.

There has been said to be up to 7,728 cases of whooping cough this year a startling number in comparison to previous years with the fear of it only getting worse.
