The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has partnered with Gulftainer, a Sharjah-based integrated maritime and logistics solutions provider, to launch a new trade bridge connecting Sharjah and Dammam. The initiative aims to enhance logistics connectivity between the UAE and Saudi Arabia while driving more efficient regional trade flows amid rising global tensions.
A Seamless Multimodal Corridor
Designed to integrate both land and sea transport, the trade bridge will accelerate cross-border cargo movement and streamline supply chain operations. By combining multiple transport modes into one cohesive corridor, the initiative supports faster market access and improved logistics efficiency.
Faster, More Reliable Trade
The trade bridge is set to reduce transit times, optimize cargo flow, and improve overall distribution performance, according to the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani). It also enhances reliability between the UAE and Saudi markets, giving businesses more predictable and resilient logistics solutions.
Strategic Infrastructure Integration
Gulftainer highlighted that the corridor leverages Khorfakkan Commercial Terminal and Sajaa Dry Port, alongside integrated inland and land-sea routes. This setup enables direct, efficient transport links between the UAE and Dammam.
Operational Advantages Across Borders
According to Mawani, the corridor introduces several key operational benefits, including streamlined cross-border procedures, multimodal transport integration, and stronger infrastructure linkages between major trade hubs in both countries. These enhancements are expected to simplify cargo movement and reduce logistical bottlenecks.

Driving Regional Trade Growth
Beyond operational efficiency, the trade bridge is expected to deepen economic ties between the two countries. By enabling faster access to key markets and strengthening supply chain resilience, the initiative positions itself as a critical step toward expanding regional trade and offering businesses a more integrated, dependable logistics network.
This new trade bridge marks a strategic step toward faster, more reliable connectivity between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering businesses a streamlined, integrated route that supports stronger trade flows and long-term regional growth.
