Twitter Has Officially Introduced Audio Tweets and the Results Are Hilarious
By Nour El-Miligi
Twitter dropped a new feature on Wednesday which will allow users to share 140 seconds of audio snippets and attach them to their tweets. Since 250 characters can sometimes limit your ability to express yourself, voice tweets will sure help you have a voice.. literally!
Although it was primarily added for people to practice self-expression using their voices, people seem to have misunderstood the main purpose and have drifted away from the concept of voice tweets. It seems like we’ll never be able to drop our supernatural humor when trying out anything new. Let’s first have a serious talk about the new feature, and then we can have a good laugh listening to some humorous tweets at the end of the article.
You can voice tweet simply by pressing on the newly introduced waveform icon when composing a tweet and you’re good to go. “There’s a lot that can be left unsaid or misinterpreted when using text, so we hope voice tweeting will create a more human experience for listeners and storytellers alike,” Twitter announced in a blog revealing their new feature on Friday.
This feature is already rolling out on a few iOS devices and is expected to be available in the rest of the iPhones and Android devices within a few weeks, yet no official date has been announced so far. For further information about the new option, you can check twitter’s full blog addressing the new feature:
Here comes the fun part. So far, people who have access to the new option have been welcoming it by using the feature to joke around. Here are some of the very first hilarious voice tweets ever composed on twitter;
Such a great start to voice tweet.
Leave a message at the beep!
What a great philosophy!
Nothing more than a cat casually meowing in a tweet
We have no idea what this is..
Wondering how far people are willing to go with the voice tweet jokes.
