Etnen Gherna dropped its first episode, arriving with drama, intrigue, and a long list of questions. The first on-screen collaboration between Asser Yassin and Dina El Sherbiny was never going to go unnoticed, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. From near-misses to emotional backstories already coming to light, the episode gave drama lovers plenty to dissect.
The Slow-Burn We’re Dying to See
From the opening scene, we see how similar Nour and Hassan are: both listening to the same radio channel, both sharing the same birthday. We then see how they’re always in the same orbits: both go to the same therapist, both are at the same place at the same time, yet their paths never cross. And honestly, we just can’t wait any longer for the meet-cute.

Hassan’s Post-Divorce Healing Journey
We get to see Hassan’s battle to move on from his divorce, how his family is genuinely concerned, and how he discusses this trauma with his therapist. And we can’t wait to see when he’ll finally start living again. Is that all it takes for him to finally meet Nour?

Aliaa’s Journey As a Photographer
Aliaa’s passion for photography leads her to visit a set without telling Hassan, just to explore her craft. We then get to see her innocent personality and how she struggles to navigate the chaos of a filming location. And we can’t help but wonder if she’ll be able to grow in this field, and how she plans on telling Hassan.

Hassan’s Bond with His Students
We see Hassan as the effortlessly cool professor and football coach who takes his job seriously, yet wins the hearts of all his students, so much so that they throw him a surprise birthday. He’s the kind of professor you can actually talk to, knowing he genuinely cares. And we can’t wait to see more of his stories as a college professor.

Nour’s Relationship With Her Family
We’re first introduced to Aliaa as a TV star, until trauma strikes with a call that her father has been hospitalized. We then see how both her father and brother disapprove of her career, and how she was forced to lose so much at a young age. And we can’t wait to see how this complicated family relationship unfolds.

While we’ve only seen the first episode, our expectations are already sky-high. Etnen Gherna is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of this drama season. From slow-burn romance to family drama, there are so many storylines we can’t wait to follow.
