Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Donates $2 Million To Hospitals in Gaza
The UAE donated $2 million to a UN program that will supply electricity to hostels in Gaza. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, took it upon himself to help hospitals in need after there was a reduced electricity supply in the territory that has been under Israeli control for the past 10 years.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, announced the donation in his meeting with Nickolay Mladenov, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, who is currently visiting the UAE.
This donation, came more than a month after US President Donald Trump cut the US funding for Palestine. Sheikh Abdallah, stressed the UAE’s support to the UN’s peace efforts in the Middle East and is determined to strengthen the partnerships of the world agencies concerned with sustainable development for all of the world’s population.
