Ahmed Bahaa, best known as the frontman of Egypt’s long-running band Sharmoofers, steps outside the group framework with the release of his hip-hop single ‘Sahran Bleil’, featuring rapper and producer Lege-Cy. On his first, solo and deeply personal track, Bahaa brings his distinctive melodic delivery, while Lege-Cy closes the song with a final verse. The song explores the psychological weight of separation, moving beyond conventional heartbreak.
While the release does not signal an official departure from Sharmoofers, Bahaa has stated he remains part of the band; it does mark the beginning of his solo path as an individual artist.
“When I’m in the band, I’m in my home studio. This is me stepping further out of the comfort zone that’s been built.” – Ahmed Bahaa
The track establishes a clear distinction from the band’s funk and reggae-leaning sound, allowing Bahaa to explore a sonic space that sits outside the Sharmoofers’ established identity.
Sahran Bleil serves as the first rollout from an EP currently scheduled for release in 2026.
