Moroccan artist Sara Moullablad releases ‘Twehechtek’ as the first glimpse of an upcoming EP. The track centers on the persistence of an inner presence, someone who is no longer physically there but hasn’t entirely left. Framing longing as a quiet fact of daily life, something simply acknowledged, this sense of restraint sets the tone for what follows.
The song unfolds during a liminal, sleepless night, where Moullablad questions her own validity, whether what remains is love or merely the discomfort of absence. The production, helmed by Sherif Mostafa, features subtle melodic guitar riffs, with Moullablad’s vocals at times woven into instrumental lines. A slow, deliberate pace unfolds over lightly layered high-note violin. The minimal production adds suspense and emotional depth while allowing her voice the space to breathe. Moullablad’s vocal delivery remains close and conversational, letting small shifts in tone carry the emotional weight.
Directed by Reda Lahmouid, the music video, set against the streets of Casablanca, presents fragmented memories, visual glitches, and understated interactions between Moullablad and actor Ayoub Gretaa, defined more by what is remembered than by what is present.
