An Ode to Black
Black is timeless. It screams sophisticated, classy and sexy. Yet black also plays it safe. Dressed up or down, layered, all black, contrasted, or matte, whatever you’re trying to pull off, the color black will morph into and full up the voids.
I’ve always been obsessed with black. Whether I’m talking clothes, products, nail polish, cars, the only question on my mind is, “Do you have that in black?” Unfortunately, we come from a culture where black is generally associated with negative factors. But don’t let that hold you back, here’s the general rule: If you’re rocking black, you’re doing it right (whatever “it” is).
A wise Yohji Yamamoto once said,
“Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy – but mysterious. But above all, black says this: ‘I don’t bother you – don’t bother me.'”
Took the words right out of my mouth, Yamamoto. And we’ve got the pictures to back it up.
WE SAID THIS: There will always be something parading as the “new black”, but nothing beats the original!
