New Family Sponsorship Policy for Expats in the UAE Comes Into Effect

According to Khaleej Times, an official from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) told the newspaper that “salary and not job title is now the basis for residence visa applications for both male and female expats wanting to sponsor their family members.”

In short, this means expats will no longer have to be so consumed worrying about their job title, thinking of ways to sponsor their dependents/families, because finally, a new family sponsorship policy for UAE expats came into effect bringing all of those expats worries to an end.

The FAIC policy stated that any resident male or female can now sponsor their families under these conditions: if the spouse has sons under the age of 18 or unmarried daughters. He or she must earn a monthly salary of no less than Dh 3,000, and with, of course, accommodation provided by the hired company.
