From being one of the Middle East’s most sought after singers and crooners to a Salafi fundamentalist. The man who was known for his love songs and ability to make women swoon, has now shunned the entertainment industry and has decided to devote his life to “God” and the human cause.

He quit unexpectadly earlier this year, while participating in a demonstration in Lebanon against the Syrian government and the creulty is has imposed on its people, expressing that he had finally chosen the “right path” by retiring from the music industry.

Known as Hajj Shaker now, he has been quoted saying ““Singing is haram and makes God angry!”
