At approximately 5:30 am, multiple vehicles carried out a coordinated attack. The Jordanian army announced that several of the vehicles were taken out. Jordanian officials confirmed the attack claimed the lives of six soldiers and 14 others were injured.
Al Jazeera reported that the bomb went off in the deserted buffer zone between the Jordanian border and al Rukban refugee camp, which houses over 70,000 Syrians. State TV described the attack as yet another “cowardly terrorist attack.” The assault comes weeks after an attack on June 6th, where a gunman had shot and killed 5 officials at the General Intelligence Department office in the Palestinian refugee camp of al Baqa’a.
