‘I Can’t Watch & Remain Silent’ Rapper Kid Cudi Speaks Up About Genocide In Gaza

Rapper and Grammy-winner Kid Cudi ‘Scott Mescudi’ calls for a ceasefire, and condemns genocide in Gaza inflicted on Palestinian people in a lengthy statement on his Instagram account on Sunday.

Yesterday, November 6, the Cleveland native joined other artists and celebrities in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. This is after the massive Saturday pro-Palestine rally that took place in Washington DC uniting the voices of 300,000 protesters.

On Saturday, during the protest, American rapper Macklemore gave a speech in which he labeled Israeli attacks on Gaza as ‘genocide.’

Kid Cudi’s statement on Instagram reads:

The things I’ve been seeing in the news have been breaking my heart. I can’t watch what’s happening in the world and remain silent, I can’t imagine the pain people are feeling… a pain no one should have to go through.”

He was supposed to release a new album but he doesn’t feel like it’s the right time to release music.

“I stand with the people of Palestine as they demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the ongoing genocide. My heart goes out to all my brothers and sisters of all faiths and backgrounds who are suffering. Free Palestine!”

Hundreds of artists are currently signing the Artists 4 Ceasefire petition, among them are Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Zayn Malik, and Joaquin Phoenix.
