Google Maps Restores ‘Sinai’ After It Was Spotted Missing By Social Media Users

On October 19, after Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi rejected the proposal of relocating displaced Palestinian to seek refuge in Egypt’s Sinai, the name of the Peninsula was removed from Google Maps.

The name of the Peninsula later reappeared on Google Maps after it has been spotted by social media Influencers such as Mohamed Mekawy.

The change is not seen as a coincidence due to the timing of it.
