Gigi Hadid Celebrates Her Palestinian Roots on First-Ever Vogue Arabia Cover
Supermodel Gigi Hadid, the daughter of Palestinian-American real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and former American model Yolanda Hadid, makes it on the cover of Vogue Arabia.
The Hadid family have always been criticized by people for not defending Arabs, or being proud of their Arab heritage. Now, Gigi has shut down all these haters with her latest shoot for Vogue Arabia. The 21-year-old wears a custom-made embellished headdress by Brandon Maxwell and her appearance is every bit as stylish as you would expect.
“Being half-Palestinian, it means the world to me to be on the first-ever cover of Vogue Arabia, and I hope that this magazine will show another layer of the fashion industry’s desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people and customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to… & learn and grow in doing so. Thank you Deena Abdulaziz for your vision and for having me on this cover,” Gigi has said.
WE SAID THIS: We’re happy Gigi is finally embracing her Arab side. Now we just have to wait till she stars belly dancing!
