Egytian St. Food hits London’s finest!
The well-known Egyptian vegetarian dish that is Koshari has made its way in the world of street food all the way to the docks of London.
Having said that it is Lebanese born, writer & chef Anissa Helou which has recently acquired a hole in the wall stall on St. Martins Lane where she will start serving her fabulous array of quick to go dishes in early March.
Dubbed ‘Koshari Street’ the newest brand to hit the city will incorporate a fairly priced meal at £3.95 with an added selection of salads, which is said to change seasonally at £2.50 . Helou has promised to also serve an exciting selection of desserts that will stay consistent within the Egyptian theme that Koshari Street has been built on. These fantastic dishes will be available for just under £2.
For those of you who have never had Koshari, this quick meal is combined of CARBS! Literally combined of rice, lentils, and pasta and topped with a homemade tomato sauce that can vary in spice depending on the venue. As partial garnish and kind of the cherry on top, you can expect to see a mix of caramelized onions as well as boiled chickpeas. Served to go it is fast and is the perfect dish for anyone on a budget and looking for something healthy yet filling.
With prices comparable to picking up a newspaper bag full of fish& chips we highly recommend this healthy alternative for late night clubbers and anyone looking for a fresh snack.
