Egypt’s Women’s Beach Volleyball Team Crowned African Champions 

Egypt’s national women’s beach volleyball team has won the 2019 Africa’s Beach Volleyball Nations Cup that was recently held in Nigeria. The team won the African Championship, making us all proud, beating Mauritius 21-15 in the first half, and 21-16 during the second half.

The team’s journey in the tournament began with a score of 2-0 win against Gambia, followed by yet another win against Morocco and a score of 2-0 victory against Nigeria before defeating Mauritius during the final. The Egyptian team was represented by Doaa El-ghobashy and Farida Al-Askalany, who are now through to the summer’s World Championship which is going to take place in Hamburg, Germany.

Meanwhile, El-ghobashy who’s 22 years old, previously competed in the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, also in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. And, El-Askalany who’s 24 years old is actually a four-time gold medal winner in Africa and was also named ‘2019’s best blocker at the African Club Championship’
