Egypt’s Population Increases by 1 Million in Only 6 Months

It’s official! Egypt’s population is going to reach 92 million at 8 pm tonight, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said. Do you know what this means? It means we increased by 1 million in only six months. Yup, you read that right, six freakin’ months.

“The population growth limits the state’s ability to make tangible change in living standards, since the population growth is not proportionate to the current economic growth,” CAPMAS said on Wednesday. They’ve also said that “Egypt’s population is growing at a rate five times higher than that of developed countries, and twice as high as developing countries,” which is a bit worrying…
