Egypt has secured approval to host the 2026 Track Cycling World Cup in Cairo from April 1 to 4. The decision was confirmed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with strong support from Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhy.
Olympic Qualifier
The event is one of the sport’s key qualifying rounds for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, drawing international attention and top-tier athletes.
Egypt’s Hosting Experience
This isn’t Egypt’s first time hosting major cycling events. The country has previously organized global and continental competitions like the Arab Track Cycling Championship 2024, steadily building its presence in the sport.

A Push for Growth
Although track cycling is still a niche sport in Egypt, hosting world-class events is part of a wider effort to grow local interest and establish Egypt as a significant player in the international sports scene.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Cairo is gearing up to take center stage once again.
