Egypt Delivers Humanitarian, Medical Aid to Kabul
Humanitarian aid and medical supplies arrived in Kabul Friday, as a sign of solidarity from Egypt to “the brotherly people of Afghanstan,” Afghan News reported Saturday. The cargo was arranged by the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in coordination with various government agencies, the site quoted an Egyptian Embassy in Kabul statement as saying.
Blankets, medicine, medical supplies, and food were included in the cargo, to be delivered to needy families across Afghanistan before winter sets in. “The Egyptian Embassy in Kabul handed the assistance to the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) in to take the charge of distributing it to different hospitals and to the less fortunate people in different provinces around the country,” reported Afghan News. The Embassy and the ARCS also organized an event Saturday to announce the delivery of the assistance.
“Mohab Nasr, Egypt’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, said the assistance proved Egypt’s commitment to help the Afghan people and alleviate their suffering after decades of war and conflict,” said the article. “Nasr stressed on deep ties and historic relations between the peoples of the two countries.”
WE SAID THIS: Hey, at least we’re doing something good these days!
