Dubai is inching closer to becoming one of the world’s top three tourist destinations, recording 9.88 million international visitors in the first half of 2025—a 6% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
Officials attributed the rise to targeted global marketing, strong public-private partnerships, and a constantly evolving visitor experience. The city’s hotel sector also saw a boost: average occupancy rose to 80.6%, room nights reached 22.24 million, and the average daily rate climbed to AED 584.
On X, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan celebrated the milestone with a message to the world: “A warm welcome to all our visitors — from the heart of the world, Dubai.”
With nearly 10 million visitors in just six months, Dubai is on track to break records—and possibly land among the globe’s top three most visited cities by year’s end.
