Egyptian indie rock band Cairokee has announced its first-ever live concert in Iraq, set to take place at the Roman Theatre in Baghdad on April 24.

The show comes as part of the band’s wider touring schedule. The band is currently gearing up for a European run, kicking off on March 24 in Paris, with additional stops planned in Utrecht, London, Berlin, and Vienna.
Widely regarded as a pioneering force in the region’s indie music scene, the band broke into the mainstream following the hit of its 2011 anthem ‘Sout El Horeya’, which became closely associated with Egypt’s revolutionary youth movement. With a prolific discography spanning multiple studio albums and a string of hit singles, Cairokee has solidified its position as one of the leading rock acts in the Middle East and North Africa.
Tickets for the Baghdad show are expected to go on sale soon.
