Bringing the Social Media Revolution to Health Care

0

We’ve been witnessing revolutions left and right in the past few years with uprisings in the Middle East, Europe, South America and so forth, but the real revolution that we are witnessing in this decade is definitely a Social Media Revolution. It is THERE. You cannot escape it. Trust us, you cannot. It is the number 1 source for a lot of things for a lot of people now.

This revolution has been taking over all fields of life, art, music, politics, technology, business, and more but how far has it gone for health and healthcare?

Well the Mayo Clinic is here to make sure it goes pretty far! Trying to increase the integration of social media into health care communications, they published a book “Bringing the Social Media #Revolution to Health Care” that goes beyond “how to” and presents strategic reasons for just that. Essays by thought leaders and hands-on participants in health care social media bring the strategy and practice of social media to life.

And it’s not just about bringing patients closer to doctors, it’s more than that. It’s building a whole network on social media platforms connecting healthcare providers,  physicians, surgeons, patients and employees in the healthcare industry together to try and improve healthcare worldwide and making them learn the social media ways to do so.

Check out Farris K. Timimi speaking about the book here: –

WE SAID THIS: It’s bound to happen and Mayo Clinic is taking it upon themselves and their expertise to enhance this!
