Avril Lavigne to Head Star Studded Performance for the Abu Dhabi Special Olympics 2019!
The 2019 ‘Special Olympics’ are taking place in Abu Dhabi from the 14th till the 21st of March. More than 7,500 athletes will be competing in 24 Olympic style sports, representing over 190 nations. This makes the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 the most unified games in the 50-year history of the Special Olympics movement.
A huge list of international and regional superstars are set to perform during the marvelous event at Zayed Sports City Stadium!
On top of the list is the Canadian Superstar, Avril Lavigne; whose 2015 hit song, Fly, was the theme for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles. The Despacito hit-maker, Luis Fonsi and the three-time Grammy Award Nominee, Paul Oakenfold, are set to perform as well!
Not only international superstars are set to perform during the epic event, as three of the leading names in the region are also announced to take the stage! Egyptian Superstar Tamer Hosny, Syrian legend Assala Nasri, and the Emirati icon Hussain Al-Jasmi are also set to perform for the 2019 Special Olympics.
The performances will be witnessed by more than 40,000 spectators and millions of TV viewers around the world. The athletes will take center stage in the traditional Athlete Parade, as they show the world that there are no barriers when it comes to achievement on the sporting stage. The athletes will be accompanied by a number of international celebrities and sporting heroes including Special Olympics Global Ambassadors. Those are like Didier Drogba, Michelle Kwan, Dikembe Mutombo, Vladimir Grbic, and Apolo Ohno, who are all passionate about driving the Special Olympics movement forward.
