Egypt’s Cabinet has approved the release of non-circulating commemorative coins in gold and silver to mark the upcoming opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The coins will be issued in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 pounds ahead of the inauguration set for November 1st.

Egypt has scheduled the full opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum for November 1st, 2025, marking the culmination of over two decades of construction and investment. The museum will be located near the Giza Pyramids and is set to showcase more than 100,000 artefacts, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun and other major archaeological finds.
