Following the major success of Sharjah Sustainable City, launched in 2019, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has unveiled a new chapter, Sharjah Sustainable City II. The futuristic city will cover 7.8 million square feet in Al Rahmaniya area, and will house 1,032 dwellings, including 944 townhouses and 88 five-bedroom villas.
Smart Living Powered by Clean Energy
Every home in the city is a fully smart residence, powered by solar panels and energy-efficient appliances that make for a future without the fear of carbon emissions. Beyond clean energy, the master plan integrates farmlands and biodomes, transforming the city into a fully self-sustaining community with locally-sourced food.
Fostering Connectivity Through Nature
It’s a plan for a community where residents are fully immersed in their surroundings. A 2 km central green spine weaves through the city, linking neighborhoods and providing easy access to shared amenities. Imagine lush pathways, jogging tracks, and expansive sports areas that bring an active, people-first environment to life.

Sharjah’s Vision For A Sustainable Future
The Chief Executive Officer of Shurooq, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, noted that Sharjah Sustainable City II builds on the success of its first phase, introducing the next generation of sustainability solutions. The project caters to the UAE’s rising demand for communities that enhance quality of life while remaining environmentally responsible and future-ready.
