Sisi Pledges One Billion LE to Improve Alexandria’s Sewage System
Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El Sisi pledged to allocate one billion LE from the Tahya Masr Fund to develop Alexandria’s sewage system, he announced on his official Facebook page.
On Sunday, Sisi made a surprise visit to Alexandria, which has been devastated along with other northern Egyptian cities in recent weeks by severe flooding.
A replacement for former Governor of Alexandria Hany El Messiry has yet to be announced. Messiry resigned as a result of the floods that killed several people and destroyed farmlands.
