Cairo to Host NewSpace Africa Conference 2025: A Milestone for Africa’s Space Ecosystem

The NewSpace Africa Conference 2025, taking place from April 21-24, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt, at the innovative Egypt Space City, is set to redefine Africa’s space future. 

Organized by Space in Africa in partnership with the African Space Agency and the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), this event will explore “Empowering Africa’s Economy through Space-Driven Innovation,” highlighting how space technologies can revolutionize vital sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure.

With Egypt Space City as the backdrop—home to the African Space Agency’s sprawling 123-acre headquarters—the conference showcases Egypt’s growing leadership in space, aligning with Africa’s ambitious goals under Agenda 2063 for sustainable development. 

As this dynamic event unfolds, here are the key highlights that will shape the next chapter of Africa’s space industry:

This will be the moment the African Space Agency (AfSA) officially takes off, marking a pivotal point in Africa’s space evolution. As the agency becomes fully operational, it will take center stage in driving space-related initiatives across the continent, bringing fresh momentum to Africa’s ambitions in the space industry.

The conference was unveiled at the 2024 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, Italy, by Dr. Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and H.E. Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, President of the African Space Agency Council.
