A Beginner’s Guide To Dungeons in World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft allows players to explore an open world that is filled with adventures, quests, tough enemies, and much more. But aside from progressing through the story, you also get to complete Raids and Dungeons. These allow you to take down powerful enemies by teaming up with other players, and today, we are going to talk about what Dungeons in Wow are and why you should do them.
Dungeons are something through which you can acquire amazing rewards. This can be done through Raids as well, but Dungeons can be completed quickly compared to them. This is why many players tend to choose Dungeons over them because of how simple they are. If you’re willing to do them, you should also check out the Grasp of Avarice boost.
How To Do Dungeons
The first thing you need to know about Dungeons is that you’ll need a total of five players to do them. Unlike Raids, where you need 10-30 players to do them, Dungeons have a low player requirement. Each player is given a specific role. There are three damage dealers, one tank, and one healer.
To take part in a Dungeon, you will first need to reach level 15. Once done, you can access them by opening the Group Finder. This can be opened by either pressing its icon from the bottom right corner of the screen or by pressing “i” on your keyboard. You’ll see an option called “Dungeon Finder” on the left side of the Group Finder.
By going to the Dungeon Finder tab, you can select the type of Dungeons you want to take part in. You can either choose the Random Classic Dungeon option to play a random one or select your desired one from a list of Dungeons. However, keep in mind that doing a random Dungeon will provide you with some extra rewards, which you’ll be able to see before starting it.
Dungeon Difficulty Levels
Just like Raids, Dungeons also have four difficulties. The first one is Normal, and it is designed for those who are new to it. The second one is Heroic, and you can jump to it after you have gotten familiar with how these Dungeons work. As for the third difficulty level, it’s called Mythic, and it is designed for experienced players only. And finally, we have Mythic+, a difficulty level only for those who are extremely good at the game. These Dungeons should be completed only by a group of players who know every little thing about them.
Different Roles
Now, before you start a Dungeon, you will first need to select your role. The Tank role is meant for those who are willing to keep the enemy’s attention on themselves. This role should only be chosen by those who are more experienced with fighting enemies. Tank players mostly focus on ensuring that they take the damage instead of their teammates.
Next, we have the Healer role. As its name suggests, Healer’s responsibility is to keep the team alive. If you choose this role, you will need to heal them whenever they take damage and make sure their health does now fall below a certain percentage. This role should also be taken by those who are familiar with Dungeons.
If you’re new to Dungeons, then we’ll suggest you simply go with the Damage role. You will only need to focus on killing things, and that’s it. You won’t have to worry about leading your team to victory or healing them when they take damage. But you will need to assist whoever is playing as the Tank as you can’t keep all the heat on them. And again, don’t pick up the other two roles until you know how these Dungeons work.
After successfully selecting your role, you can click on “Find Group” which will put you up in a queue. You will be automatically paired with other players who are willing to do the same Dungeon. Unfortunately, most of the players avoid playing as the Damage Dealers and want to complete them as either a Tank or Healer. This means that it will take some time for Damage Dealers to find a match. The average wait time can be around seven minutes for Damage Dealers.
Help Your Teammates
Now, when you begin the Dungeon, keep in mind that your goal should be to help your teammates clear them as swiftly as possible. A lot of players only care about dealing the most amount of damage. Sure, it’s great to be at the top of the list. But it won’t do you any good if you’re dead. Do everything your class is responsible for to make things run smoothly.
Furthermore, if you’re just starting out in Dungeons, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Every pro player had to start somewhere, and you will mess things up during the first few runs. This is totally okay, as long as you learn from your mistakes and make sure not to repeat them the second or third time. But as you keep on doing Dungeons, you’ll keep on learning more about them, which will eventually lead to helping you become better at them.
How Long Does It Take To Complete A Dungeon?
While it can take you hours to complete Raids, Dungeons can be done in around 30 minutes. These will make you fight against a couple of bosses, around 4 of them, and you’ll also face regular enemies as well. Some of the bosses are weak and can be taken down easily, while others won’t go down without a good fight.
Take Down Bosses For Rewards
Each boss you defeat will drop high-quality gear. You’ll also receive XP for taking down bosses, which will let you quickly level up. Furthermore, the final boss usually drops more loot than others. All of these are enough reasons for you to do Dungeons. You can either use the rewards you get or sell them at the Auction House for a good amount of gold.
Conclusion
This concludes our beginner’s guides for Dungeons in World of Warcraft. As you can judge for yourself, these are fun to complete and will reward you greatly. The best part is that they can be completed quickly, and you don’t have to worry about spending hours on them. However, make sure to choose the right role for your character. Otherwise, you will just become a burden on your teammates.
