Tutankhamun and his Treasures are on Their Way to Sydney, Australia For a Huge Exhibition!

The one name that comes to every foreigner’s mind when they hear Egypt is Tutankhamun and his royal treasures. It is a surprise to all of us to find out that the largest King Tutankhamun exhibitions to leave Egypt is heading to Sydney. To welcome it, Sydney’s Australian museum had a $50 million dollar upgrade. This is the last time the famous exhibition Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharoah will be viewed anywhere outside of Egypt before it returns to its homeland.
The exhibition contains 150 exquisite objects from King Tutankhamun’s tomb and is thought to cater for 800,000 visitors during the six months of the exhibition. “People are fascinated with Egypt and they always have been … and it is a fascinating story — the boy king,” leading Egyptologist Constance Lord from Sydney University said. The artifacts are proof of the social and cultural connections which are characteristic of the eastern Mediterranean going back to antiquity The pieces had been kept in storage at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo for some 95 years, without being restored or scientifically examined. The exhibition has been acknowledged globally by almost all museums.
