Pink Ambulances Are Now a Thing in Dubai

by Hana Ghatwary

Five years ago, women took over Dubai’s streets, quite literally. They broke the oh-so-traditional gender roles and started driving themselves and other women around in their very own pink taxis. Not only did that ensure the safety for their clients who order them, but also for the captains themselves.

Now, these women have struck again and went the extra mile by introducing pink ambulances with an all-female staff! The pink ambulances will mostly be used for women in labor.

The new vehicles are currently in use for 12 hours/day, and they’re operating in the Deira neighborhood. If proven to be popular within the masses, they will expand to Bur Dubai and other areas in the emirate.

WE SAID THIS: We’re crossing our fingers. Go girls!
