In an effort to support the healthcare professionals or the “first line of defense” as His Highness chose to call them, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai launched the campaign ‘Your City Needs You’ on the Day for Dubai app, calling for Dubai residents to volunteer to help the city in this challenging time.
So, if you live in Dubai, and you’re wondering how you can give back to this beautiful city, here’s your chance, download Day for Dubai now and select volunteering opportunities based on your interests!
Organized in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority and Watani Al Emarat Foundation, the campaign follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to “spread the values of volunteerism as a humanitarian and national duty”.
Speaking of the campaign, Sheikh Hamdan said, “My message to everyone is to volunteer to join the dedicated teams that are working around-the-clock to protect our community. This is part of our social responsibility and our duty to help safeguard the welfare of society. Our aim is to ensure the highest levels of protection against the global pandemic we are facing and support the government’s efforts to combat it. This is a great opportunity to show our unity and our love for our city”.
Sheikh Hamdan had previously shared a powerful message, urging people to stay at home, and stressing that the pandemic is “a very real threat to each and every one of us, our families and friends”.
Day for Dubai app was launched by His Highness in 2017.
