The New Kids on the Sahel Block

block

Sahel is tricky especially when it is Ramadan. While most are used to the crazy nights and the wild days on the crystal blue waters, one has to change their state of mind completely while being on the beach in Ramadan.

Luckily for us, while escaping the city last weekend, we got a chance to experience the newest kid to hit the Sahel scene. The Block, a conglomerate of Cairo’s hottest sheehsa (Boulevard) and diner like food (Grizzly’s), along with a new gourmet pizza brand (Lujo’s)

Don’t know what to do on your Ramadan nights while chilling on the North Coast, we recommend you try out the block not only for their Sohour but also for the shisha and the seating.

fresca

If your hungry for fetar or sehour, you can pick from Grizzly’s regular menu or sehour. Try the juicy lucy burger, a huge burger that you can share with your friends if you don’t feel like eating it all yourself.

pizza

If your in the mood for pizza try out LuJo’s, the gourmet pizza joint just opened at the Block, coming from culinary mastermind Alia Abdelrahman. We tried the fatatet macdous pizza, although it may sound heavy, the Dips Roman and yogurt made for definitely an interesting sehour option.

For all the shisha addicts out there, you were not forgotten either, Boulevard made sure to open at the Block to provide you with your daily fix. Our personal favorite is the Blue Mist, a must try!

Whether your playing Monoply Deal (everyone’s Ramadan game), having a coffee with friends, or just there to eat, you will definitely find something to satisfy you.

Recommendation: Do go when it’s not so crowded, the more crowded it gets the harder it is to get the waiters attention or your order.
