RIP Hugo Chavez

After 14 years in power and at the age of 58, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has passed away.

Chavez was battling cancer for over a year and underwent several operations in Cuba to try and combat the disease but lost his battle after more than 12 months of treatment.

Supporters gathered outside the Caracas hospital in which he passed away, chanting “We are all Chavez!” and continue to mourn the president till Friday when his burial will take place.

Vice- President Nicolas Madura will assume the role of President until new elections are held within 30 days.

We Said This: Although the exact nature of Chavez’s Cancer was never stated, we hope the country moves on to better and stronger future!
