New AED 100 Banknotes to Be Introduced in the UAE Starting This Tuesday
According to Khaleej Times, the Central Bank of the UAE will be introducing a new AED 100 note starting this Tuesday, 30th of October, 2018.
The new note will have security features on its front side such as a color changing option printed at the bottom left corner. The color will change from green to blue when the note is tilted. Also, a ray of light moving from top to bottom will show to distinguish the note.
Moreover, a 3D security thread will replace the current color shifting thread and the “100” denomination value, as well as the silver filigree foil, were removed.
The country’s central bank also mentioned that the new banknotes will be put in circulation with the existing ones. It’s worth mentioning that authorities took hold of fraud money worth around $20 million in Ajman back in May, 2017.
