Netflix Just Announced Their Next Arabic Original Coming Next Month!
After the remarkable success of the first Arabic Netflix Original, Jinn, the entertainment powerhouse just announced their second Arabic series and it’s coming sooner than you think! The series will be called Dollar, and they promise that it’ll be a fast-paced action-packed drama that will leave all of us on the edge of our seats.
Dollar is set in modern-day Lebanon, and it’ll star the Lebanese Adel Karem and the Algerian/Lebanese Amal Bouchoucha. The show is directed by renowned Syrian director, Samer Berkawi, who directed several regional award-winning hit shows like Al Hayba and Half Day.
The show will come out on the 8th of August with subtitles in 20 languages to over 148 millions Netflic subscribers. Unlike Jinn, which was only five episodes, Dollar will consist of 15 episodes. Thus, we’ll get to see more of the story in the first season.
The show follows the story of Tarek (portrayed by Adel Karem) who’s an advertising mastermind. Tarek is tasked to come up with a million-dollar idea for the launch of a new bank. He doesn’t want to share the idea except with the CEO, but something isn’t right. The Bank’s CFO Zeina (portrayed by Amal Bouchacha) can sense this. We’ll see through the story whether or not Zeina will be able to put the pieces of the puzzle together before things get out of hand.
