Meet Abdul, the Young Palestinian Rapper Spreading a Message of Peace
The Palestinian city of Gaza is home to some of the best talents in the Arab region. Abedalrahman Al Shanti, who calls himself Abdul, is one of those young talents who is trying to pave his way in the art and rap scene. He is a young rapper who started posting his content online in 2015.
At the age of 9, he sings for a cause, hoping to create change with his lyrics supporting Palestine and the Palestinian cause, and promoting peace, freedom, and anti-discrimination. Through his music, he hopes to spread a message of peace and unity, and aims to meet producers who can develop his songs further. Stemming from his belief that all human beings are equal, he considers himself a global citizen and raps in English to spread his message globally. He also takes part in performances on different occasions.
