Egyptian Man Discovers Passage to Great Pyramids of Giza
In what is insane news, an everyday Egyptian man who goes by the name of “Nagy” happened to be digging in his backyard in Haraneya when he came across a tunnel leading to the Great Pyramid of Khufu.
Haraneya Village is located very close to the Giza Plateau, and having dug 33 feet beneath his house, Nagy came up on the corridor made up of stone blocks, according to Al Ahram.
This happens to be a huge discovery, as archeologists have been searching for decades for the private passages leading to the Pyramids.
The passageway is mentioned in Histories by the Greek Herodutos, who claims that upon visiting Egypt in the Fifth Century B.C.E., he was taken through the passage to visit the Pyramid.
The Khufu pyramid is known to be connected to an undiscovered temple near the Nile, and with this discovery archaeologists now believe it to be located close to Nazlet el-Samman. Let’s hope this will bring them closer to finding the buried temple!
WE SAID THIS: Yay for Egyptian history!
