Discovery Sued for Wrongful Death
Terry Flannel was killed in an explosion during the filming of a Discovery Channel pilot. Terry was 51 when she passed away last year, the victim’s family filed a wrongful lawsuit against the Discovery Channel this week. Terry was filming the pilot for “Brothers in Arms” a show about military vehicles, when smoke bomb being used for special effects unexpectedly detonated.
The lawsuit claims that Discovery and Anthropic Production failed to obtain the proper permits for the devices and did not use a qualified supervisor to oversee the stunt.
Mel Bernstein, the victim’s husband said ” I’ve been running this rifle range for 30 years and no one’s got hurt, because it is very safe. Out of eight days of filming, it happened in the last 30 seconds, the last frame. And it happened to my wife.”
Looks like the Discovery Channel is in for a ride!
